Allegro with an allergy

Rakhima Zhaxylykova carried out risky experiments on herself.

Allegro – i.e. I want to remember about my allergy with merry mood. However in the very beginning there was specific diminuendo: I had no choice but hang myself or excoriate, starting with crown. I was pant with an allergy. And red spots, not spots – scars were flared all over the body: from cheek to cheek. I understand: I am not driven, but rejected – I cannot go to places where people live. And kiss, for example, though it is not the most important, a girl?

LOOK FOR A WOMAN

Doctors could not help me: I was considered as an experienced patient and have seen everything. But in this place, as in old novels, Fate has remembered me and leaded me to this shelf. Sometimes even now I wake up: what if I never went to this store? Little book was not purchased because of the high price (though it was local edition) and a little strangeness. Though it was merry blue color it looked like swab or prickle. I thought: “Seems like author got many things in his life”. Protective prickles were ridged round the unusual title – “An allergy – as the reason of disease growth to the beginning of III millennium”, and then in brackets in small letters and the same in Latin in big letters: “an allergy – acariasis”. The book was bristled up with predictions to careless readers from plagiary, to idle gapers from dilettante discussions with author. Devotees of academic composure were civilly lulled by note: “Private researches”. Something like, we do not make any pretence on more. And there, in the title – exclamation of authors soul to the interested people and organizations. It means the author is not rich, definitely not rich. I was broken down at all – till the lump in the throat – I was sick and sensible, when I saw the dedication to father and schools teachers from Dzhusaly station. The information about the author was printed in modest letters: “R. D. Zhaxylykova. By the way, long time ago I believe only to those people who do not show off…. And below – in very big letters – again the exclamation of authors’ soul: “I do not suggest ordinary theory in medicine, I suggest heroic treatment and preventive measures of an allergy”. My eyes grew dim….

To find my future doctor – Rakhima Dosmakhanovna – was easy. She has prevented me at once: I was sick for long time – and we need long time to cure, there are no miracles, I have to be tolerant. I want to anticipate: there are miracles! I have cured! But the most interesting was waiting for me between these conditions: treatment, reading the book and communication with doctor, who did not act up to my merry and even gay allergo-reputation.

LUI PASTEUR AND RAKHIMA – SOCIAL CULLS

…… Exactly 20 years ago passengers have cried at her, being crazy of closeness: get out! Now! If you do not get out – we stop the tramway!..

And she was impassively riding the tramway on Pasteur street, thinking about the tricks of fortune and happiness of scientist. She was riding on the street named after Pasteur, as on the street named after her and she was laughing: “Congratulate me, dear Lui, on my benefit day! I was right”. And she was still thinking, that for the time being they are a kind of unique – and here she laughed aloud – and Rakhima Zhaxylykova. Both of them are streams, which feed up the Medicine river. She was laughing, wrapping up zephyr: nevertheless it is good that Pasteur did not vaccinate the madness on himself, as she – an allergy. What if the vaccination has succeeded, as her experiment? The very same scream – get out of the tramway, has brought her to senses. It turned out that wind blow up the zephyr from her shoulders and people on the neighbor benches could not stand for the scene. No, I do not speak about the beauty: can we really appreciate the beauty ardently! Her shoulders were burnt with scars and allergic spots inoculated by herself – faith stigmata in her theory. I calm down people as I could – this is not infectious, believe me, I am doctor myself, and this is an allergy. But I have to go to hind part and get back to the reality.

…I heard several episodes like this from here during the treatment: continent till closedness, she remembered about it, to settle in the patience, faith in own effort to be healthy and faith in her, candidate of medical science, experience, which is not given for nothing. The thing she did not talk about – is an attitude of colleagues towards her, them, who develop scientifically the same problems. It seems that she got the roses rarely. But when I talk to big authority in our immunology, he was mannishly laconic: “I have one standard for all doctors – recovery of patients, that’s all”.

MERELY THE DUST

And now the small piracy from “prickly” book of my doctor. I think if she is angry, anyway she will cool down: now we see each other every six month – for examination and preventive treatment. I have shorten the text myself, to pull out, in my opinion, the most important. “Scientists all over the world certify the presence in household dust of a person’s place more than 150 kinds of microscopic mites. In 60 years Holland scientists prove etiological role of these mites in appearance and development of some versions of an allergy (bronchial allergy and others), moreover only as passive agents, allergenic during the inhalation them with dust. At the same time in literature there are many facts of discovery of different kinds of these mites in eliminations and secretions (fel, gastric juice, saliva, mucous fluid and others), organs and tissues of human’s body (lymphatic channels, glands, livers, spleen), even in cancer and in thickness of an atherosclerosis plague of an aorta and others. In special literature the disease, caused by microscopic mites, is called as acariasis (acarus is mite)”.

MEDICAL CRIME STORY

The life of a scientist always contains the element of crime story with truth prosecution and big rate of risk as it was with Rakhima Dosmakhanovna:

- Even in 70 years, being as gastroenterologist, I found out dermatosis among my patients, who were considered as non-communicable by dermatologists-consultants, though there were detected mites of Demodex type from the changed skin sites of these patients. The contradiction persuade me meticulously study the skin condition of my patients – monitoring helped me even visually determine the incipient character of disease among other patients, medical stuff, relatives. After the treatment, condition of skin became better. There was nothing but to confirm the clinical impressions by an experiment and it was implemented by me in August 1980 by means of self-contamination by Demodex. After eight months the strongest allergenic complication was generalized in my body. Allergists-consultants and dermatologists resumed: acarias demodecoses has direct reference to an allergy, which is interpreted differently in the official medicine. I decided to reconfirm my conclusions one more time and have infected two cats by substance, selected from my allergen-challenged skin. An experiment was affirmative again, and I have retrained from therapeutist and gastroenterologist into allergist and dermatologist. Misunderstanding of specialists even of high levels was explained by the fact that this narrow section – clinical acarology – was on embryo stage. An opposition of the environment, especially scientific, is not the theme of this conversation. We have an allergo! That is why in a merry mood I think about female courage, which can create on any background not “thanks to”, but “contrary to” circumstances. How can be blossomed our non-parasitical life if – vice versa!

A SMELL OF LYSOL IN THE CHILDREN’S ROOM

Thoughtfully looking past me, the doctor told once: I feel blame on my children…. I have tried to put myself in their places. Say you the truth – could not as well. In two-room small apartment one door is closed: behind it – vivarium with cats. Wife and mother of children disappear there more often than in the kitchen. These pets are in scratches and scabies, everlasting smell of disinfection – lysol and clorine – so that for us, i.e. for them, i.e. for the real husband and children was more comfortable. But the husband did not stand. She adores children and granddaughter, comes to their first call. Though children are excellent people and professionals – they understand everything.

Now again about the prickle-book, from which started new age of my life. It would be better when everyone had read this book earlier, than me: for example, on the stage of “red ears”, when it is easier to kick away the mites than in my case. For the brevity I will quote my doctor again.

RED EARS MANKIND

“On this stage more often earflaps, rare – cheeks, back and tip of nose, skin on the chin and other areas quickly react by erythema of different degree of manifestation in response to even insignificant excitement, transition of environmental temperature (when person goes out of the warm premises to the icy air and vice versa), drinking of alcoholic beverages, strong coffee, cocoa, high allergenic foodstuff. In 1980-1982 during the conferences, which were held in winter in big halls, 98% and 5800 people, evidently, considering themselves apparently healthy, have clinical picture of acarias of different stages and were clearly defined “symptom of red ears”….

And we say, habitually sneezing: “I beg you pardon, an allergy again, something is blossoming…..” By the way, long science I am convincing my girlfriend to cure her red spots on the neck and attended not her cosmetician, but my doctor. Unsuccessfully. It is popular to attend cosmeticians. Perhaps now it will do, if she read it.

The devil is not so terrible ...

The allergy is a verdict. So consider many people, having tested on itself its attacks. This illness can accompany the person from the first infantile steps till an old age.

What is the position with allergy treatment in capital? The Republican allergologic centre is function. It engage in treatment of this illness. Experts of the centre are guided by the certain concept of illness in own work. However it is known, that the ways of the decision of the same problem in medicine can be various.

The original concept and accordingly technique of treatment of an allergy is developed by the Alma-Aty expert, the candidate of medical sciences Rakhima Dosmachanovna Zhaxylykova. The way to the decision of problems of struggle against an allergy has begun in 1973, when Rakhima Dosmachanovna worked as the scientific employee in the gastroenterologic branch of Republican clinical hospital, specializing on treatment of gastroenteric diseases. The patients were directed here for treatment of gastroenteric diseases as possible reasons of their allergic disease. Observing them, Zhaxylykova has discovered the independent skin disease which was transferred from the patient to the patient and thus became mass. From this time has begun gathering the materials and gradually the clinical "picture" of disease was learnt. In 1983 Zhaxylykova leaves in Кентау for the purpose of approbation of own technique of treatment an allergy. Such possibility was not represented in Alma-Ata. The results of work were very positive. Having returned, the doctor continues her work in this direction.

What is essence of Zhaxylykova's concept? It is in following: the mites are the reason of the overwhelming majority of allergic diseases. As a rule, the allergy is the reaction of the mucous membrane and skin, amazed by parasites. The various physical and chemical factors (including pollen, sun shine, drugs, food substances, etc.) are triggers.

According to the standard theory, the physical and chemical factors are principal cause of occurrence of an allergy. And plus: an allergy is not an infectious disease.

Thus, the concept of Zhaxylykova R. D. deepens and evolves the traditional concept. Her concept is confirmed by the copyright certificate and recognized in republican medicine. Zhaxylykova R. D. is the author of scientific articles in «the Bulletin of Academy of sciences of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic» and other scientific editions, the participant of scientific Conferences.

The discovered technique of treatment of allergy consists the cleaning of skin and mucous membranes from allergens. It includes the recipes of alternative and official medicine. The great importance is the prevention of illness. This is a whole complex of various recommendations which the patient receives in the course of treatment. Difference of the Zhaxylykova's method of treatment from traditional is in much shorter period of treatment. Moreover, this treatment is spent in any period, including in stage of illness aggravation.

What are the results of treatment? Here is an opinion of group patients: “We are marked the improvement of our condition after the course of treatment (twenty daily séances) passed from doctor R.D.Zhaxylykova. We very much regret, that earlier we passing long treatment in other clinics and had no such positive result. We express the best regards and gratitude for Rakhime Dosmachanovne. We wish to employees of Ministry of Health to create high-grade conditions for treatment of patients by Zhaxylykova's method because many people have allergy.

Original of this article is published in "Herald of Ministry of Science and High Education" of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 1999 # 6, p.90-91 This book is devoted to a rather urgent theme - role of acariform mites of families Demodicidae, Pyroglyphidae etc. in development of allergy. The significance of Demodex and Dermathophagoides types mites in this process is especially underlined. As a leading part in occurrence of such allergy are mites, name of illness "Allergy -acarias" is quite justified. Acarias is considered by the author as associative disease always connected with simultaneous parasitizing of both mites and bacteria, fungus and other pathogen of microorganisms. Thus the extremely large role of acne mites Demodex folliculorum in pathogeny of allergy is evidently shown.
For about 16 thousand of peoples addressed due to allergy and dermal illnesses were examined and 99,8 % from them found out mites of this type. These results are not surprising, as under the report of the academician E.N. Pavlovskiy (1948) this type of mites "can live in completely healthy skin and not to show its presence ? and... can be found in integuments of the human being in 50 and more percents of cases". In case of more perfect modern methods of researches they can be found out, this is the opinion of R.D.Zhaxylykova, more often and in larger quantity in places of mass duplication of mites in sebaceous and sweat ferri lactases and in hair follicles. However she did not reveal mites at the persons with healthy skin. Simultaneously with Demodex on skin of the patients sometimes (up to 2 %) there were also other types of mites - Dermatophagoides, Sarcoptoides, Cheyletidaes, Rhyzoglyphidaes, Tyroglyphidaes and others. The known role in occurrence of allergy -acarias belongs also to these types. Some of them in absolute comprehension of parasitism are not parasites of man, but live in his nearest environment - in dwelling, home dust, bed accessories, flour, cheese and in other products and on vegetables. Getting with dust on our skin and in respiratory tracts, they cause boring of tissues and allergy.
Proceeding from quantitative ratio of different types of the found out mites of patients, the author quite fair in the description of pathogeneses, of clinical picture and complication of allergy - acarias pays large attention to Demodex. The book of R.D. Zhaxylykova (1999) is unique domestic work with a detailed exposition of etiology and clinic of allergy - acarias as illnesses with the complex etiological factor. Before this publication the problem of demodekoz in integrated consideration was not generalized by anybody. Russian medical literature up to 1970 very seldom talked on mites of this group and their pathogen role. In 1945-1948 academician E.N.Pavlovskiy and V.A.Dogel (1947) gave the detailed description of morphology of mites Demodex folliculorum and their significance as incitant of acnes. Later their pathogenicity was mentioned by V.B.Dubinin (1953) and A.B. Lange (1958). After publication of works of M.V.Pospelova-Strom (1968), L.Kh.Akbulatova (1970) and G.S. Pervomaiskiy (1970) the researchers started to pay attention on demodekoz disease of people (Genis, 1975; Volzhanskiy, 1977; Mukhina and Yevseeva, 1980 and others.). This was promoted also by works of R.D.Zhaxylykova (1981 and others).
Despite of actual materials of many foreign and authors mentioned above on damnific significance of Demodex, N.A.Torsuev and I.P.Pototskiy (1979), and also Yu.G.Igoshin and N.A. Yegorov (1983) consider presence of these mites only as the accompanying phenomenon of acne eruption. Some authors (Kartamyshev, 1952; Rozentul, 1963 and others.) in their works during description of acnes etiology do not even mention presence of Demodex.
R.D.Zhaxylykova (1999) in her book in detail describes three consecutive clinical stages of disease allergy - acarias. Thus acarias is considered at any stage of development as polymorphic dermatosis. On the initial period of the first stage akariaz proceeds without attributes of allergy, but in organism the sensibilization to diverse components of mites bodies develops. This stage can last from several months to several years. Such variety of duration of illness is peculiar also to other (II and III) stages. From the end of I stage and in subsequent the allergic displays in clinical picture of acarias prevail. In the description of II stage of allergy - acarias the particularies on clinic and current of 15 various dermal displays of acarias (erythemas, papules, vesiculosis etc). In this case and possible growth of regionar lymphatic glands. As the III stage of allergy-acarias the pathological processes are considered in case of mites penetration to the internal bodies (liver, lungs, etc..) on junction-tissue layers, and sometimes on lymphatic and blood-vessel tracts. The attrition of immune system of the patient organism is characteristic for this stage.
Section "Conclusion" studies questions of distribution of dermal diseases in historical aspect are discussed. With the reference to the European sources the generalized data on 100 % of affection of skin of "healthy" people by Demodex and on etiological role of mites Dermathophagoides in development of athopic variants of respiratory allergy are given. From these positions the criticism of the established views in medicine on etiology and treatment of acarias by old methods is expressed.
As a whole book is saturated with the large actual material, is written by simple, accessible language and can be useful not only for doctors - dermatologists, therapeutists, but also persons of other medical and biological specialities.
